The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later released.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several people injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
